From the Pastor’s Desk

Father Pribonic In 2009, St. Joan of Arc Parish will be celebrating it's sixtieth anniversary as a parish. From 1923 until 1949 it was a mission of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Finleyville and priests regularly served from that parish. Since that time we have grown to 1700 families and can be proud of great congregational participation in our liturgy as well as school, catechetical efforts, youth ministry, adult education, as well as outreach.

Among our outreach, we have the Appalachia Workcamp, St Vincent de Paul Society, cooperation with SHIM, the "Giving Tree" at Christmas time, our food pantry, as well as providing aid to an orphanage in Zagreb, Croatia, www.sttheresasorphanage.org and assistance to the Genesis program and South Hills Pregnancy Resource Center, just to name a few.

Please feel welcome to join us for Mass; in you are interested in the Catholic Faith, please call to become part of the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults program that begins in September and concludes during the Easter season. We pride ourselves on being a friendly church, but we are not perfect, and at any rate, the Church is for saints and sinners, so that just about covers everyone!
