The Life Enrichment Club is for adults who are interested in enriching their lives through learning and creating new friendships. Meeting each month, September through May, programs begin with a covered dish lunch from 11:00am to 12:00noon, followed by a speaker who addresses various topics of interest, or an entertaining program lasting until 1:00pm. Wednesday, September 12 – Ulysses S. Grant – Living History
Join us for an intimate conversation with Lieutenant General US Grant, commander of the Union Army during the Civil War, and the 18th President of the United States. Professional living historian and retired Marine Corps veteran, Kenneth Serfass has spent 45 years studying the life of his childhood hero. His mission is to restore Grant’s place of honor among the most respected people in our nation’s history. Serfass’s portrayal of Grant brings to life the lessons and legacy of one of America’s greatest military leaders.
Wednesday, October 10 – Fitness fun with Healthtrax
Is football season tuning you into a couch potato? Then join us for a presentation by Peggy Gregor, National Group Fitness Director for Healthtrax Fitness and Wellness. She will inspire us to get up and get moving by demonstrating exercises using simple equipment (audience participation encouraged), and chair exercises you can do while cheering on the Steelers. Peggy will also share some information about programs and classes, including Silver Sneakers, offered by Healthtrax Fitness and Wellness in Bethel Park.
Wednesday, November 14 – A Big Store: A Kaufmann’s Talk
Bring your downtown Pittsburgh memories for a program by writer and historian Melanie Linn Gutkowski. Melanie is the author of Kaufmann’s Department Store, a history of a Pittsburgh landmark. She will take us back in time to an era when Pittsburghers met under the Kaufmann’s clock, ate lunch at the Tic Toc, rode the escalator to Toyland, chose sweet treats at the Arcade Bakery and marveled at the enchanting Christmas display windows every December.
Tuesday, December 4 – South Hills Chorale Christmas Concert

Before the holiday rush begins, take time to relax and join us for a repeat performance of the South Hills Chorale at our December luncheon. The Chorale will entertain and uplift us with a concert of Christmas music both old and new, guaranteed to put all of us into the holiday spirit.
